Robert A. Young III, "Trip"
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Each client is unique and deserves the opportunity to tell his/her story so that an individualized treatment plan can be developed. While medication management is my primary focus, I view medication as a tool to provide enough stability to apply the copings skills for recovery.

To achieve this goal, I offer longer, unrushed appointments

and collaborate closely with a client's therapist. Furthermore, I am available between appointments to discuss the treatment plan, help implement coping skills, and make modifications as appropriate for each individual. Medication management is just one part of the holistic treatment approach I use for depression, anxiety/trauma, bipolar and borderline personality disorder. I work with adolescents and adults.

Before becoming a nurse practitioner, I studied philosophy/religion in college and received meditation/mindfulness instruction while studying in India. I have also struggled with and recovered from depression, and I utilized in my recovery the very same coping strategies I teach clients.

Mental illness can be debilitating, I encourage you to reach out to someone and not struggle alone!
